Something Could Happen
RiTE’s first collaboration with director Warren Fu of Partizan brought us into the visual world of Tom Petty’s posthumous track Something Could Happen, released alongside the Wildflowers & All the Rest project. The goal was to create a whimsical modern fairy tale that honored Petty’s playful spirit and the imaginative storytelling that defined many of his iconic music videos.
The film follows a woman attempting to declutter her life, only to discover that the memories she tries to discard begin returning in magical and unexpected ways. Drawing inspiration from Petty’s classic videos, the piece blends surreal characters, handcrafted creatures, and subtle Easter eggs referencing moments from his musical legacy. Working alongside Warren and the team at Partizan, RiTE helped bring this dreamlike world to life — merging practical fabrication, stylized storytelling, and cinematic craft into a heartfelt tribute to one of rock’s most beloved artists.
