Under The Infinite

Project Overview

This short film began in the most creatively pure way possible. After a wonderful collaboration with award-winning director Warren Fu on a Tom Petty music video, we teamed up with our friends at Partizan to imagine an original short film together. We gave Warren a simple sandbox: a massive LED volume stage and the freedom to build a story from scratch.

Working with his writing partner Elissa Nechampkin, he developed an allegorical tale set in the late 1970s. Two men from different generations and backgrounds are mysteriously drawn to a remote field after experiencing the same recurring vision, only to discover a crop circle with a single string stretching upward into the infinite sky. What begins as curiosity slowly unravels into conflict, as each man projects his own meaning onto the inexplicable phenomenon. The film explores how interpretation, belief, and perception can shape reality — and how the search for meaning can ultimately divide us.
